I'm excited to share my 3D Game Boy Advance game with you!

Ride the zipline through the beautiful detailed and textured 3D environments while aiming your zapper at the targets to gain points. The outer purple is worth 2 points while the center yellow is worth 5 points. After completing the 3 levels, you will see your score out of the total possible 160.

Press the up button during the title sequence to increase the zipline speed. A red dot in the lower left corner lets you know that level has been set to hard mode.

Press the down arrow during the title sequence to lower the zipline speed for that level. You might find this helpful!

A button fires the zapper

B button jump when you are on the ground

Left shoulder button look down

Right shoulder button look up

This runs on a GBA emulator like mGBA or on a flashcart on the actual hardware!

I hope to further develop my game with your feedback. Add more and have Zipline Zapper published on an actual GBA cartridge with box art! And it will include the level editor I also programmed that runs on the GBA. So all you need is the ROM and you can design your own levels.

I want to also make a tutorial video explaining how I was able to program such optimized C code to push this much 3D detail on the old Game Boy Advance.

I programmed this completely from scratch, it's all my own code, no libraries, no AI, it's just me!

Reminds me of rides at amusement parks that have you shoot at targets as the car takes you along a preset path... For example, Lost Kingdom Ride at LEGOLAND California...

Yes! There are a few fun amusement park rides like that! :)

Amazing!

Yay!! I hope you have fun ziplining and zapping! 😎👍

Duke Nukem meets Panzer Dragoon!

I wasn't expecting an on-rails shooter but now I'm thinking about how cool it would have been to have Panzer Dragoon or maybe Time Cop on the GBA.

The graphics are incredible! It's starting to feel like we're in a golden age of 3D homebrew on the GBA.

There is something about on rails that adds a unique experience. My game engine could be adapted for more shooters or ports!
